A formula is exact only for the dimensions it names. Radius is half a diameter, semiaxes are half full axes, and geometric height is the perpendicular distance required by the chosen solid.
Radius errors grow quickly
Cylinder and cone formulas square radius, while sphere volume cubes it. Entering a diameter as a cylinder radius makes the result four times too large; for a sphere it makes the result eight times too large.
Height means perpendicular distance
For a cone or pyramid, slant height follows a surface and is not the vertical height in the volume formula. A triangular prism also needs the triangle’s perpendicular height before that base area is extended along the prism length.
An ideal formula cannot inspect the physical object
VolumeCalc cannot detect wall thickness, rounded corners, deformation, fill level, internal parts, or measurement angle. Confirm that the ideal solid and dimensions match the question before treating the result as a real capacity.
